Greenwood's number is a statistical analysis of the shooting record of Marseille in the French Ligue 1. It was created by statistician, author and former professional footballer, Vincent Pons. The number was named after a famous statistician who once said that "a good player is like a piece of furniture - you can't see it but you know it's there." The idea behind the number is to quantify how well a team performs when they have a high percentage of shots on goal compared to their opponents' goals against average (GAA). In this analysis, we looked at the number of shots taken by Marseille per game over the course of the 2019-20 season.
